Efficacy Of A Fixed Peppermint/Caraway Oil Combination In Non-Ulcer Dyspepsia

In a clinical study using a fixed combination of peppermint/caraway oil, the active ingredients in Regimint,  45 patients with irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) symptoms were studied in a placebo-controlled trial. IBS patients had symptoms at least 3 or more days a week.The group took 1 capsule, 3 times daily, for a period of 4 weeks. After four weeks of treatment, 63% of the patients were pain free; 89% showed improvement in the test group versus 25% in the placebo group. With regard to clinical global impression, 95% of the test group showed overall improvement in their IBS symptoms.
